Charlie at the Moulin Inn |
Once over the top it was a fine descent down into Pitlochry where we stopped for food at the bakers. Having enjoyed our grub we then popped into the bike shop to see if there were any bargains on offer before setting off to take the Dunfallandy road over to Logierait. At Ballinluig we took the cycle path down the east side of the A9, but first had to hurdle a fallen tree before continuing down to take the back road into Dunkeld by Craig a Barns. The run which had been reasonably pacey until then gathered speed and momentum as we took the main road by Caputh and Spittalfield to Coupar Angus where we stopped briefly to put on waterproofs as the heavens opened. Once past Ardler the rain eased and gradually stopped as we continued on by Kirkinch and Balkeerie to join the main road and head for home.
A good run 146km on the day with an average speed of around 21.3 kph. We took around 7hours 40 mins in total including 50 mins of stoppage time.
The run on Wednesday night is to Finavon.
Next Sunday the run is to Clatterin Bridge
