Once down by Kellas in into the Ferry, Norman turned off. Just before the Docks Ian and Angela turned away opting for a shorter run. Charlie, Jim, and Dave headed over the bridge stopping for a coffee at the kiosk and a blether with George and Margaret Berwick who were on their way into Dundee for the weekly shop. It was turning into a pleasant sunny day as the trio made their way along through Wormit before cutting back around by Links Wood and St Michaels then on by Balmullo to Dairsie. Now on the back roads they crossed over the River Eden and headed up the picturesque Dura Den arriving at Pitscottie just in time for lunch. The White Chimney's cafe proved worth a visit whereafter they continued  along the B road towards St Andrews before turning down to Strathkinness.

A steep climb up through the village was rewarded by a long descent down to the main road where they joined the cycle route by Guardbridge, Leuchars, Tayport, then back along to the bridge. Once in Dundee they retraced the route up by Kellas and back over Carrot Hill and down to Inverarity and home.

Saturday Moulin Moors 150k Audax

On Saturday there was a 150k Audax organised by Angus CC. Out of 22 entrants 15 turned up on the day with 6 of these local riders, 3 each  from Angus CC and Angus Bike Chain. The unsettled weather probably kept a few more from entering on the day. The route took the riders up Glen Isla and around by Folda against a headwind before turning down by Blacklunans then up past Kirkmichael and over the Moulin Moors to Pitlochry. The weather stayed fair and after Pitlochry it was sunny for a while as they headed dwon by Dunkeld and Murthly before returning home with a strong tail wind by Campmuir, Newtyle, and Glamis.
Everyone finished well within time.

Wednesday Evening Run to Roundyhill 29th August

Sunday Run 26th August

Dave H and Dave Fawcett were up at Newtonmore on Sunday, taking part in the Forres Foray 200k Audax. the weather was mixed raining at first then clearing up later. The breeze was from the North, so after turning at Forres they made their way home by Knockando and Grantown on Spey with the help of a tail wind.
Back in Forfar  Ron, Tom, Gus, Arthur and Ian  started heading for Montrose, but midway Tom and Ron fancied a cuppy in Brechin, Tom took them through Kinnaird Castle Estate to Bridge of Dun en-route to  Brechin. They then headed to Kirrie via Carerston, Gus, Arthur and Ian took a wrong turn and ended up in the Drovers on a wasp extinguishing mission aided with a few refreshments  in the sun!
