Sunday Run to Amulree

Only Charlie and Dave turned up for this one.
It was fine sunny morning with a hint of Autumn as we headed out by Newtyle to Coupar Angus.
Here we took the cemetery road to Kinclaven then down to Caputh where we joined the main road to Dunkeld. The long gentle climb up Strathbran to Amulree was quite pleasant in the sunshine and it was only when we got close to Amulree that we noticed a slight headwind. Having enjoyed a good cup of coffee and some food at the tearoom at Amulree  we then descended the Sma' Glen.
On the way out of the glen we passed through roadworks where half the road had slid down the steep embankment. Turning along by Harrietfield there was no hint of a breeze making for a pleasant run down Glen Almond. Nearing the A9 and the crossover to Luncarty, we took a differrent route and followed the cycle way to Bankfoot where there was a bit of a climb over by the Farm Restaurant  then down to the Stanley road. Here we backtracked for a mile to take the Balathie road to Kinclaven where we headed for home by Coupar Angus, Meigle, and the Bogside Road.
A few miles before Forfar it started to rain, no great surprises there, but it didn't become too heavy and we arrived home fairly dry.

The Wednesday night run is to Glamis.
The next Sunday run will be an impromptu
